The most rewarding part of my job is making a beautiful portrait for someone who isn’t comfortable in front of the camera. It’s not always easy, but the less someone enjoys being photographed, the greater the potential reward if you capture them well. I started out by shooting my friends’ sweaty bands in musty Portland basements in the early 2000s, progressed to portraiture and weddings, and finally quit my day job in 2013 to be a full-time freelancer. I left the wedding world during Covid, and lately focus my business on portraits, commercial & lifestyle images for small businesses and nonprofits, live music & performance documentary, and anything else that’s cool and/or prevents me from having to go back to a real job. An Oregon lifer, I was born and raised in Klamath Falls and live in SE Portland with my wonderful wife and two daughters.
